		<description>The radio transmissions travel at the speed of light, so they've been traveling for over a 100 years and have traveled over a distance of over 100 light years, or about 6 x 10^14 miles!  The strength of the signal gets weaker by 1/(the distance traveled)^2, so they become attenuated very rapidly. But, who knows the capability of some alien technology to pick up these signals.

		<description>There are those that think we do have visitors to our planet.  It would be great to know for a fact that there are other intelligent life forms out there, hopefully friendly.  I would like to think that if we do have an invasion, our current visitors would protect us.  I'm kind of with Stephen on this one, why call (literally) for trouble.  With the radio transmissions, do we know how far they travel?  It is kind of scarey to me, on the one hand how great, on the other, what will it bring...</description>
